Abdominoplasty, a.k.a. tummy tuck, refers to the surgical procedure of removing droopy abdominal skin and the tightening of the declining elasticity of the abdominal wall muscles. Although diet and exercise usually does the trick for keeping a toned abdomen, there are instances and cases where the loose skin and droopy abdomen is best fixed with a tummy tuck.
We have performed thousands of procedures, that have changed our patients lives. The secret is detailed attention to each case, and treating each patient as an individual. Everyone has different needs and wants and no two bodies are the same. Some call our tummy tucks and mommy makeover results magic!
Take a look at a few before and after procedures from our most recent patients. We have a wide range of ages included in these examples. You will see that some did the procedure to improve some minor excess droopiness in their abdomen, where as for others, it was a slightly larger procedure.
The full Tummy Tuck procedures is performed at our Beverly Hills surgical center, and starts with an incision that spans from one end of the hip to the other . This is done in such a way that the scar is not visible, even when wearing undies or a swimsuit. The loose skin is separated from the abdominal wall and then the loosened abdominal muscles are repaired by tightening them, which creates a similar impression of using an abdominal girdle.
Afterwards, the belly button is then separated from the belly; the excess skin of the belly is removed, the abdominal wall is tightened and even the skin on the buttocks and thighs is tightened. After which, the belly button is reattached to its new and correct position. In order to remove excess fluid and to avoid fluid buildup within the incision after the procedure, drains are placed on each side of the cut.
